Hello Gator Families!
Before moving into the October happenings, I'd like to recap some of the fun we had in September. Gator Grin cards were introduced to students the second week of school. Each card has a space for 15 stamps. When students fill up a card, they turn the card into their classroom teacher to be counted towards the schoolwide incentive. At the end of each week, a class or a grade level with the most cards turned in earns a celebration. Below are some of the celebrations we've had so far:
First grade classes won a special lunch with the principal outside
Mr. Bury's 3rd grade class won a "Chalk the Walk"- where they can decorate the sidewalks at the entrance of the school
Kindergarten classes won story time with Snappy
We set a goal to earn 300 cards as a school and met that goal last week! As a celebration, all students will be earning a 30 minute movie this Friday. Our next goal is to earn 600 for another fun, schoolwide celebration! Wish us luck!!
Reminders
As the weather begins to change, please see the reminders to help keep our students safe and healthy this school year:
- Classes enter the building at 8:35am. If your student is outside prior to this time, he/she may be unattended (and cold!).
- No dogs are allowed on building grounds. As cute as they are, we would hate for anything to happen to one of our students or your four-legged friend!
- Bikes/Scooters/Skateboards/Other transportation should be walked on and off our building grounds.
- If your student isn't feeling well or is unable to attend school for the day, please call the attendance line as soon as possible at 262-335-5520 and leave a message with your child's name and reason for the absence.
- There will be no school for students on October 12th.
Fall Fundraiser
Information on our Fall Fundraiser will be sent home with your student this week. Please see the attached information and reach out to your child's classroom teacher for more information.
Within the last few weeks, your child's classroom teacher shared information about themselves, the daily schedule, classroom expectations, curriculum, and other topics that pertain to a day in the life of your student. We would like to take a moment here to also introduce our Specials teachers, and talk briefly about who they are and what you can expect your child to be learning in each of their classrooms. There is contact information included for each teacher, so please feel free to reach out to them with any follow-up questions or comments.
As always, please feel free to share with me any information regarding your child's needs that will help us serve your family better. We believe that communication between the school and home is critical in assuring student success. If we can be of any help, do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Potter
