Featuring... Second Grade
Each month, we have tried to feature a different grade level and the fun things they are doing at school. This month, we feature our second grade students! Second graders researched penguins and put their measuring to the test by creating life size penguins that now roam our hallway walls. They also used our MakerSpace to create pictures and fictional stories about being trapped in a snow globe. ______________________________________________________________

Second Step
Over the next few weeks, students will learn how to apply their emotional management, communication and empathy skills to solve interpersonal problems and demonstrate strategies for effectively dealing with interpersonal conflict. Students will learn how to identify a problem, to recognize purposeful versus accidental behaviors and how to respond effectively. As always, if you prefer that your child does not participate in the whole-group instruction for this unit or lesson, please communicate that preference to your child’s classroom teacher prior to the lesson. Thank you for your support as we work to build a safe and supportive school community.
