 Hello Gator Families! It's hard to believe it is already December!  The time is just flying by here at Green Tree. Reflecting on the year so far, the staff and students deserve a tremendous shout out for all of the hard work to keep our building not only safe, but also engaging!  We continue to celebrate our successes from within, and here are a few highlights from this year so far. Green Tree Fun Celebrations We are working towards earning gator grin cards as a school to reach our school goal this month of 1000 cards.  We only need 70 more to reach this goal! When we reach our goal, we plan to have a schoolwide popcorn and movie celebration before we leave for winter break!  Keep reminding your little superheroes to use their powers to be kind, respectful, responsible, ready, and safe!  Starting next month, teachers will nominate one student each week who demonstrates the skills associated with being kind, respectful, responsible, ready, and safe.  ...

November Newsletter

Welcome to November ! October was a busy month full of learning, as well as building a positive and safe environment here at Green Tree. Our schoolwide theme was focused on skills for learning: listening, focusing attention, using self-talk to stay on-task, and being assertive when asking for help with a learning task. In our morning announcements and in class, we focused on these skills each day, and students are really starting to shine as successful learners. As we move into November, our schoolwide theme is focused on empathy. In our morning announcements, we’ll be reminding students to have empathy, identify their own and others’ feelings, notice and respect same and different feelings, and show compassion. When students can identify, understand, and respond in a caring way to how someone else is feeling, it helps create a positive and accepting school climate.
