Hello Green Tree families, Please see the updates and reminders below: Second Step After this week finishes reinforcing the skills related to empathy, we will begin working on practicing our steps to problem solving through the month of May. I will be reminding students of the following STEPS in my weekly video uploaded to Facebook and in google classrooms to give students optional challenges to participate in at home: S: Say the problem T: Think of solutions E: Explore consequences P: Pick the best solution As you can see, the first letter of each step spells the word ”step.” Remembering “step” helps students solve problems with each other in safe and respectful ways. Second Step lessons specifically teach students to use each step and reinforce the message that solutions need to be safe and respectful. Hello Gator Families! First and foremost, thank you for your efforts to support your child(ren) with distance learning. We know this is not ideal, and that it takes a lot of work to learn a new platform such as Google Classroom for both you and your student. It is important that all students are engaging in the activities the teachers are sending to maintain the learning that occurred up until March 13. When students participate in the learning that teachers are building on through these virtual activities, it puts us in the best possible place to return to our learning when that time comes. If you are having any trouble accessing Google Classroom, or finding a structure to use it that works for your family, please reach out to your child's teacher, me, or our counselor. We know that the earliest we will return to school is April 27, unless the Governor's Safer at Home order changes between now and then.
